Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Houston is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Fun place to visit! I liked the menu- I tried the sea salt matcha! What stood out the most was the staff- David was taking orders and manning the counter. He answered our many questions kindly and well. He navigated helping pick up customers and people with questions and those placing orders all simultaneously and with such a positive attitude. He helped a customer navigate a drink change (after customer already ordered and paid) and I am sure it was a pain to do, but David helped him out and provided top notch customer service with a great attitude. I was very impressed.

Excellent French/eastern fusion bakery and coffee shop, 85*c Bakery Cafe is situated conveniently adjacent to the I-10 frontage lane in the same parking lot as the Ranch Market. The staff and customer service is impeccable and friendly coupled with a vibe that puts you right at home also with a simple but futuristic look. It has the characteristics of a local coffee shop paired with a bakery that makes everything fresh in house. The drinks are everything from simple pick-me-ups to decadent delights guaranteed to knock the morning weariness out with a right hook and get you ready for the day. And the baked goods are without compare, lest I also forget about the various cakes and sweets. Places like this offer the kind of variety that this great city is known for as a genuine melting pot of cultures, and this is an example of beautiful things coming out of a union of east and west. The main reason I do these reviews at this point is to give recommendations to adventurous Houstonians and reward local businesses with patronage that operate on the highest level and deserve to succeed in a city of many choices. Please SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES & keep revenue in our city!

This is the bakery I often visit for tiramisu, milk tea, cakes, and sausage buns. Overall, the pastries are pleasantly balanced in sweetness—not overly sweet, salty, or greasy—which makes them easy to enjoy regularly. The menu is quite extensive, offering plenty of choices, and the drink selection has expanded significantly over time. The shop recently added two self-service ordering kiosks, which are especially convenient during busy hours. The location is easy to find, with ample parking available. It’s also conveniently located next to 99 Ranch Market, making it a great stop before or after grocery shopping. The interior is spacious, bright, and well-organized. Everything is kept very clean, including the restroom facilities. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the overall level of cleanliness and hygiene is impressive. Overall, it is a comfortable and welcoming place to enjoy a snack, a drink, or a dessert, and one that I continue to return to whenever I am in the area.

I like that their pastries are not very sweet. Everything I have tried so far is good (and I have tried many!) . Prices are reasonable.

I LOVE 85° Bakery Cafe and let me tell you why. I’ve been to both their Katy location and now their Houston location. Both times I have been completely blown away by the service, quality of food, and atmosphere (cleanliness and ambience). I had the pleasure of being helped today by David and let me tell you this man was on a mission. I took my time picking out the bread that I wanted, and when I went to check out, this man was rushing to finish my order like it was an Olympic sport. As a note, there was no one behind me in line and no one else in the store. This is some high-quality service. Don’t know where you found David, but leave it to 85° to find him. Quality Service + Quality Food + Quality Atmosphere = Fantastic/Legendary Café. Highly highly highly recommend, this is some of the best bread you will ever taste in your life.
